In Plans we build locations (with floor plans, descriptions, 3D views, NPCs, and all)
In Places we deliver landscape, that is maps, unique in their 3D construction and display
In Stuff we detail all the useful items, ideas and individuals wanted in a story’s background
And in Stories we will watch it all unfold…
3rd Supplement is a small press publisher of RPG material, system neutral and in color. It is located in Munich, Germany, and was founded in 2010 by Mia (words) and Heiko (colors).
Heiko’s first RPG encounter was when he found Das Schwarze Auge (DSA; the original version of “The Dark Eye”) on a public library shelf at the tender age of 13. Later, he moved on to Sci Fi settings and Cyberpunk. Together with one of his ever-gaming friends he stumbled over Vampire: The Masquerade and they initiated the first Munich vampire live campaign in 1994. Dwarfs, werewolves, mages… there are not many entities walking the plane of RPG he hasn’t impersonated over the years. These days he runs only one campaign based on Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time, one of his players being Mia.
Mia didn’t enter the world of RPG until she was 22. So, skipping the pitfalls of teenage dungeon crawling, she was straight into serious grown-up gaming (that is, dressing up as a vampire:-). It changed her life profoundly. She walked home from her very first gaming session and sat down to write. Since then, she spammed her GMs with countless pages of in-game diaries or off-game background stories. Obviously, she’d need a world all to herself…
For years, Heiko and Mia met in various campaigns (live and pen & paper), which lead to the inevitable… They have been together for several years now – and with Heiko being a creative GM and Mia a writing gamer, this lead inevitably to… the founding of 3rd Supplement.
Upcoming in 2011
Plans ‘n’ Places is all about setting the stage, that is, all kinds of locations. We will continue to produce more maps with new and fetching landscapes. In addition, we will expand this line with floor plans, quite unique ones, when it comes to detail and display. Two of them are in the making right now:
Grab a Book – The Bookshop in the Barn
Cross the Border – The Guardhouse at the Seven Sided Tower
Stuff ’n’ Stories is about cast and scenery. We will offer all kinds of material to support the GM in enriching his or her campaign; these resources will be interesting to players as well, e.g. for portraying his or her PC’s background.
Actually, there’s a whole new world behind all this and we are anxious to let it unfold!
